The studies performed under the “AQVA series” are focused on techniques and procedures. The first steps have been on coronary intervention and in particular on new applications of coronary physiology to improve PCI outcome. Anyway, the ELEMENT STUDY GROUP is not only focused on PCI. Indeed, in collaboration with many colleagues, the TRACS trial has been ideated. The TRACS trial aims to change current standard of care on TAVI procedure. The TRACS trial includes patients undergoing TAVI and randomizes them to perform the procedure in centers with or without on-site cardiac surgery. The strength of the “AQVA series” is to take current standard of care and to try to demonstrate that new advancements are feasible and helpful for the patients.
